I have both and I could easily wear earbuds while they were healing. My rook doesn't even go near where earbuds go. The conch is more anatomy dependent, though. Some people with small ears would probably bump the piercing with taking them out and putting them in. I wore over-ear headphones a lot while my tragus was healing and that was fine too.
