My 1290 Super Adventure S has been in 3 times for the quick shifter not working as described above, the technicians did not even bother to test it yet - they just state no errors found & that they adjusted it. Super disinterested. I took it back this morning for another unrelated warrantee claim (3rd separate issue).

Entretien 30000km - KTM 1290 SUPER DUKE R/GT Relever la mémoire d'erreurs avec l'outil de diagnostic K. Contrôler la pression du carburant. Contrôler le bon fonctionnement de l'équipement électrique. Vidanger l'huile moteur et remplacer le filtre à huile, nettoyer la crépine. Vérifier les disques de frein.

This post is just a way of determining how unusual or common my experience has been. The following issues are in a loose chronological order. Left rear indicator failure - warranty. This happened in the first week of owning the bike. I had installed the KTM tail tidy a day after taking delivery of the bike.

I have had the General Warning alert when an oil temp sensor failed and was telling the ECU that oil temp was over 150C when it was in normal range. The message under the General Warning is the point where the (supposed) fault is: Oil temp, damping failure etc.

I believe the 2016 is a mix between the “T” model and 1190 and is a bit of a bastard child. It’s very similar to the 2020 S model minus the TFT dash and new headlight design. I think the 2016 also has a bigger tank and those little lights in the shrouds. Compared to a 2020 S, you’re losing tft dash and newer headlight.
